˚୭̥⋆*ೃ• Song: Float - Emilove Musical Medicine˚୭̥⋆*ೃ•

After a long break from posting this song series (filled with traveling and moving to a temporary but comfortable place halfway across the country!) I am now back to continue with posting my Live and Intimate song series! This is a song with many layers of meaning and fun metaphors. It relates our personal and spiritual progress to the nature of water in the form of wells, rivers, and potentially blocked by dams! This song is also influenced by my love of when people let their tears "well" up and flow, as these waters also have major healing powers! It's always a huge compliment when one of my songs brings tears to a listener's eyes. Here's a big shout out to all you amazing people that can let it flow, let it go, let it glow, let it grow!

I am also a huge fan of literal rivers that are not dammed (damned?) by man. Evidently my daughter is a fan of free and wild rivers as well, as she LOVES to play "break the dam" inspired by the movie Frozen II where we smack the couch with arms and/or mini broom handles. (I play a good "rock monster".) If you've seen the movie, you will understand, and if you haven't, it's pretty good for a big Hollywood production, you may want to check it out. But enough about Frozen 2, I hope you enjoy this song video and it's beautiful background setting made possible by my amazing friend Angelika. I will link to her calming, powerful music below. **Also, on the technical side, it has come to my attention that this video series is on the quiet side of YouTube videos, so feel free to turn your sound UP to hear it well! And back down before watching other YouTube videos.

Thanks a lot!

More about Rivers and Dams:

Here is a quote from an article titled "Two-thirds of the longest rivers no longer flow freely—and it's harming us" published on National Geographic's website. (By Stefan Lovgren, Published May 8, 2019)

"Scientists warn that such fragmentation of the world’s major rivers, caused mainly by dams, threatens the ecosystem services that both people and wildlife depend on for their survival. Free-flowing rivers, they say, provide food for hundreds of millions of people, deliver sediments crucial to agriculture, mitigate the impact of floods and droughts, and underpin a wealth of biodiversity

More about the Spiritual FLOW of Energy:

There are many ways to classify spiritual energies and how they flow well. I like this short description.

"Qi is best translated as “vital energy,” “animating force,” or “subtle breath.” According to Chinese philosophy, qi is the substrate of the living universe. It is the life energy that is present in all living beings. This concept is relatively new to our modern Western culture, although we are familiar with the ideas of “mojo” in the Austin Powers movies and “the force” in Star Wars. It also has counterparts in other cultures. For example, it is similar to the Hindu concept of prana, and the European esoteric concept of ether.

The flow of qi is analogous to the flow of water. In the body, it flows through invisible channels similar to blood vessels. Through careful observation and note-keeping over hundreds of years, the ancient Chinese developed a map of the body’s energetic system. In the body, the channels of energy known as meridians connect to the internal organs so that the qi of the organs flows to its associated body parts.

To be healthy and balanced, a person must have ample qi, and the qi must flow freely throughout the body without blockages. When qi becomes deficient or blocked, disease and pain occur."

More about the Benefits of Crying:

There is a lot of information - scientific and experiential - about how good it is for people to cry and not suppress emotions.

Here are some quotes from one article.

"By suppressing our tears, we could be doing ourselves a disservice. Unprocessed feelings are a significant path to depression as well."

“Crying is an essential form of relief” and it’s crucial to process the loss, uncertainty and stress...You don’t want to become numb or turn to addictions,” she added. “You want to be able to use the body’s natural healing mechanisms to your advantage.” "
